Picture: Title Card

Tongue-in-cheek

The Main Menu title card!

The Japanese isn't there for any other reason than to be a tongue-in-cheek throw-back to JRPGs with an English title/English localisation.

Here's some screenshots of the Kiria Cemetary.

Each gravestone also comes loaded with a unique name. And there's 60 graves.

Screenshots: Kirk's Basement Map Update

Hi!

Today, I'm showing you screenshots of Kirk's basement. You'll notice since the last pictures it's changed a lot. It now not only boasts a change in scenery, but some exploration will allow players to find hidden items in it, too!

Kirk explains that Joseph is not the first to arrive in Kiria with a caseof amnesia.

Joseph learns that opening that chest is not as easy as you might think.

Hey there.

Today I thought I would share the introduction to the game.

Enjoy!

Information: What Was The Blue Bear?

What About That Blue Bear I Saw!?

If you watched the Thousand Hands Skill test footage, you may have noticed a Blue Bear in the item screen.

In Addenda, the world is littered with Bears varying in three colours: Blue, Red and Yellow. The different colours denote rarity, Blue being the most common (though still hard to find), Red being quite rare, and Yellow being the rarest of them all. It's among the rarest items in the game (or at least it will be once the game is finished.)

Bears have different functions. As you may have seen, Blue Bears have a positive effect for your party. They restore some important stats, which may turn the tables of a very difficult battle. Red Bears have a use in combat, too. Unlike the Blue Bears their effects are not positive in the slightest. In fact, the item description is as follows:

"Use in combat to punish your foes."

And punish they do indeed. I won't go into specifics (as all stats are subject to frequent change), but Red Bears will be a devastating force in your arsenal... If you can find them, that is.

As for Yellow Bears. Well. I don't want to spoil it, but let's just say, they're incredibly rare for a reason. ;)

Videos: ThH skill test/Title Music

Hello

Two short video fors your enjoyment:
The first video is a fun test of an end-game skill for Martial Artist (something to be talked about in future updates) characters. It's very OP in it's experimental stages, but I was having fun here and felt it'd be funny to show the attack. It also gives a preview of some items (one of which will be discussed in the next post).

The second video is the Addenda Title Track. The image shown with it is a title card which may or may not be subject to change.

Enjoy!

Introduction/Screenshot 01: Meet Kirk

Welcome!

This is the blog for West Mains Development, a 1-man games development wondershowzen. Currently, this blog will track progress and releases for all future games.

The game I am working on at the moment is a Fantasy RPG called "Addenda." It follows the story of a young man, Joseph, after he awakes in the town of Kiria with no recollection of how he got there. Soon, Joseph learns that the world he's found himself in is in great trouble and if he wants to get answers about how he got there and more importantly why he got there, he'll need to travel the world vanquishing evil forces to get to the truth.

Okay, okay. I know it sounds a little generic. It's a bit basic, but trust me, there's a lot of stuff planned for the plot, many twists and sub-plots that I can promise you will not see coming.

There's no release date planned, but a very early demo will (hopefully) be released by the end of Feb. or sometime in early March.

On to our first piece of content, a tiny-wee screenshot and some information on a key character. Enjoy.

Meet Kirk, an intelligent and powerful Mage. Kirk is the first person you encounter in the game and as such is the first to introduce you to combat, magic, and a little backstory.

In this piece of dialogue, we're given a smidgen of backstory, but more importantly are allowed a glimpse at Kirk's character: this is the first look at how Kirk views Magic, and over time we'll find that he can be quite elitist about it. In his mind, Magic is the be-all-end-all solution to any problem. In plain terms he's quite a zealot. Despite this, he's a mentor to our character, and morally centered individual who will no doubt prove to be a valuable ally.

I look forward to keeping this blog fresh with regular updates for the game's progress.
